As far as I know I am the only member of PD Ljubljana Matica from Poland and it is going to be my nth visit in Julians this year. I wonder what are the present weather conditions in Julians, e.g. is there any snow? This year, quite as usual, I?d like to visit Jalovec (from Tamar), Mojstovka and Prisojnik via Okno, Triglav via Plemenice, Rjavina and Vrbanove Spice so I would appreciate if you answered me. Hvala!

This year is an average year in Julian Alps regarding snow conditions, so you can as usual expect some patches of snow on the north sides of the mountains that you mentioned. Although in July an August the footsteps are well beaten on most of the remaining snowfields and you can safely cross most of them with a little help of your walking poles.
You will however need an ice pick and crampons for Jalovec colouir if you decide to ascent Jalovec by that route or for Hanzova route on Prisojnik.

There have been no major landslides or rock falls in Julian Alps this season, and until now, the handrails and other safety installations on Plemenice, Prisojnik and Jalovec routes are in proper conditions. For further and up to date information regarding safety installations you better check on forum of Planinska zveza Slovenije (Mountaineering Association of Slovenia).

As it looks, this summer will again be marked with violent storms and large quantities of rain in Julian Alps. So before you take a trip, you better check the weather forecast. And once in Slovenia and in the mountains, check the forecasts and path/route conditions with hut wardens and local tourist offices.

Have a pleasant and safe stay!
